You can apply for the Ontario Health Insurance Plan (OHIP) if you are a Canadian citizen, are and Indigenous person, are a permanent resident, are applying for permanent residence in Canada, or are in Ontario on a valid work permit. You must also meet the following qualifications:

- be physically in Ontario for 153 days in any 12-month period
- be physically in Ontario for at least 153 days of the first 183 days immediately after you began living in the province
- make Ontario your primary residence

ontario drivers license/id
In order to exchange an out-of-province license for an Ontario license you need to apply in-person at a DriveTest centre of the ServiceOntario Bay and College location in downtown Toronto. You will need to:
- take an eye test
- bring originals of your accepted identity documents showing your legal name, date of birth, and signature
- bring your original, valid out-of-province/foreign drivers license
- bring any original supporting documents that show proof of your driving experience in English or French
- pay the applicable fees
- fill out the application form
